As DH is an ever-growing and evolving discipline, so too are its tools. Over the semester, a few new DH tools and even a refurbishing of a classic one have come out.
Released January 24, 2013. The 2.0 version of the repository and exhibit software Omeka, improved on the initial version by revamping the administrative interface, improving the search function, and attempting to make the “workflow” more efficient. In addition, many of the plugins for Omeka were also updated. See Sharon Leon’s announcement for more complete information.
Developed by Literature and Latte, the developers behind the writing software Scrivener, Scapple is organization software for thoughts, notes, and any other piece of written information, useful for drafting and writing, with the interface allowing for the visual display of connections, lists, and patterns.
